The 2026 Recital Series will feature three concerts. Pianist Yunchan Lim, who continues to attract worldwide attention, returns to the stage of the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre for the first time since his collaboration with pianist Masaya Kamei in February 2024. Works bearing the title “Fantasy” will guide the audience into a mysterious musical world.
The Piano Duo Series “VS” will present two concerts. The celebrated brother duo Lucas and Arthur Jussen, currently causing a sensation across North America and Europe, will make a long-awaited return to Japan. Recognized as true masters of the piano duo repertoire, they will perform a program including Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. In addition, the internationally acclaimed pianist Kotaro Fukuma will appear. His long-anticipated partner is Florian Noack, whom Fukuma calls a “genius of transcription.” Known for his brilliant arrangements of orchestral works that often surpass the original in expressive power, Noack joins Fukuma in exploring the theme The Art of Transcriptions, presenting solo and duo performances of transcribed works. This ambitious project promises to expand the possibilities of the piano and heighten expectations among audiences.
