Let's think together about what theatre and art can do using the keywords "parties" and "research"
The Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre's "Theatre Coordinator Training Course" has the goal of developing human resources who can stand between theatre and society, and think about, coordinate, and communicate projects which connect them.
Amid rising interest in the creation of plays that use documentary techniques, this course will incorporate the keywords "parties" and "research" to learn using a variety of formats, including fieldwork, interaction, and lectures by invited artists.
Recent years have seen a growing number of projects that are positioned as being between theatres and society, and in turn there has been growing demand for these kinds of projects. Various "parties" work with artists and theatres, but when this happens, which preparations should be made and what exactly needs special care? Who are these "parties" in the first place? Students will research these "parties" and then think about what kind of processes launch performance art works and what difficulties and challenges there are within.
Join us in thinking about what theatres and art can do in our modern complicated society and take your first steps as practitioners.
