No theatre experience needed!

In this WS, people with international roots share their experiences of living in Japan.
Together, we’ll explore how we change over time and create a theatre piece based on those experiences.

Tei Ushin – Planning & Direction

Born in Taipei, Taiwan. Graduated from the Department of Filmmaking at Taipei National University of the Arts. Moved to Japan in 2016. Focusing on themes of mobility and intercultural experience, she creates collaborative theater and film works. In 2022, she directed the film New Tokyo Tour. In 2025, she conceived and directed Door to Door, a work-in-progress production for the Tokyo Borderless Theatre Project (TBTP) at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.

KASHIWAGI Toshihiko – Direction & Facilitation

Director and actor. Representative of the theater company Dai Zero Gakusho (Movement Zero). His work spans the planning and management of regional and international projects, as well as workshops in educational institutions and welfare facilities. In recent years, he has focused on workshops and creative projects involving people from diverse backgrounds. He currently serves as Director and Deputy Secretary General of the Japan Directors Association, and as Representative Director of the NPO Seed of Arts.
