Toward greater enjoyment of pipe organ concerts
Would you like to get up close and personal with the charms of pipe organs and the depth of their music?
In this course, we will introduce in an easy-to-understand way the structure and history of the pipe organ, and how to enjoy its music.
The first half of the course will be focused on an explanation, and the second half of the course will allow participants to enjoy actually playing a pipe organ.
In addition, there will be a special edition of this course, participants will have the rare chance of trying out the TMT pipe organ.

Details: Did you know that the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre has a rotating pipe organ?
Organists in this course will introduce participants to the mechanics and appeal of the unique organ instrument in an easy-to-understand way.
The second half of the course will allow participants to enjoy playing the pipe organ.

: No. 97, January 15, 2026 (Thursday) - Special Edition: Play the TMT organ!
Details: You will be able to play the TMT organ for 10 minutes per person.
For people who want to try sounding out notes to people who want to play the music they usually practice.
Our own organist will be your assistant, and you will be able to play while asking any questions that you have.
Applications: Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre box office counter or by phone 0570-010-296 (Every day 10:00 to 19:00 except on days the theatre is closed).
* One person per slot only. Please choose either Modern or Renaissance & Baroque.
* Please include the name of the song you wish to play in your application.
* Participants must gather at the hall entrance 15 minutes before their session.
* If there is a score that you want to play, then please bring it with you.
* Please do not apply if you want to just listen to the organist play.
