“Souls can be borrowed and lent, you know.”

In June 1998, two elementary school boys, Lily and Shukusai, spend several days together and became inseparable friends. One day, they are caught up in an unexpected incident, and Shukusai comes to learn Lily’s secret. Before long, their lives begin to diverge, each setting out on a different path.

Tracing the strange, intertwined half-lives of these two boys as they repeatedly miss one another, the play unfolds as a magical chronicle of the Heisei era—an exploration of what is seen and what remains unseen.
